Security

How secure is the data?

We take security very seriously. All communications with our servers are encrypted using HTTPS. All of our servers are running on up-to-date Linux, with state-of-the-art security.

For secure payment, we use Stripe, one of the leading providers of online payment. We do not keep any record of your credit card.

Where are the servers located?

Our servers are located in Canada and the United States.

What happens if the Pack&Go service is hacked or there is a data leak?

If we detect an information leak we will notify all affected researchers as soon as possible. As explained below, Pack&Go intentionally does not keep identifying data, only the scientist knows which identifier belongs to which participant.

Furthermore, we won't keep experiment results forever on the platform. They will be deleted or archived in cold storage after a few months of inactivity.

Privacy

What information does Pack&Go collect on participants?

Pack&Go does not keep any personal information on the participants (no name, no email, ...). Results are anonymized and referred to by a token that only the scientist knows to which participant it belongs.

We encourage you to also keep the results of your experiments free of any identifying data.

Do you use cookies?

We only use cookies and local storage for the strict minimum: to keep your session logged in. We do not have any tracking cookies such as those used for targeted advertisement.

Data Ownership and Access

Who knows the collected data?

You own all data collected by an experiment. We do not claim any ownership over it. It can be downloaded at any time, and will be cleared from our platform a few months after an experiment is deleted.

Who will have access to my data?

Only yourself, and select VPixx employees for support and platform administration purposes. We will never share or sell your data with third parties unless we have your consent.

A participant has withdrawn from the study. Can they delete their data from Pack&Go?

Yes, if they wish to delete their data, they have to go through the scientist responsible for the study. Pack&Go intentionally does not keep identifying data, only the scientist knows which identifier belongs to which participant. We can manually remove individual session results upon request.
